Is TUGI intended for doctors and medical professionals?
TUGI is primarily intended to help with home treatment for adult patients who need to inject themselves from pre-filled syringes (
see table of compatible drugs).
Healthcare professionals may use TUGI to administer compatible medications to another person (adults or children).
Is TUGI intended for vaccination of children or adults?
Why does TUGI look like a child's toy?
The appearance of TUGI applicators is designed to help patients overcome concerns about the stressful and painful application of medications from pre-filled syringes.
How will TUGI help me?
TUGI provides emotional and practical assistance in the administration of drugs from pre-filled syringes:
-
The kind appearance and pleasant material to the touch reduce stress, anxiety and fear of unpleasant application of the drug.
-
The handy shape of TUGI ensures precise fixation of the syringe in the applicator - handling the syringe and subsequent application is easy, safe and less painful thanks to TUGI.
Will TUGI relieve me of pain?
The perception of pain is individual. TUGI helps to minimize pain during and after drug administration.
-
The handy shape of the TUGI ensures precise fixation of the syringe, a firm grip and a vertical injection - thus eliminating unwanted and painful movement of the needle in the body.
-
The lower surface of the TUGI rests on the skin around the puncture, activating the sensory nerves and thus distracting the patient from the pain signals caused by the needle puncture.
Can TUGI be used to treat diabetes?
It can't. Neither TUGI Model 1 nor Model 2 are compatible with syringes used to treat diabetes.
Are there other TUGI color variants available?
Original TUGI applicators are only available in blue (TUGI Model 1) and pink (TUGI Model 2).
